نسمة نهار

Voting in Israel’s first election since October 7, working through what used to be a day off, and waiting for the results, in easy Shami Arabic.

The delivery came without the drink and the food was only okay. A short Shami diary entry that ends with a proverb about bad luck.

Life got busy and the daily posts stopped for a while — a quick note explaining the gap, missing readers, and picking the habit back up.

A restless week of insomnia, failed remedies, and accidentally learning Latin American history through a four-hour podcast.

I’m too tired to do anything today — except, it turns out, dishes, job applications, a 2:30 meeting, a walk, and a swim at the nearby spring.

A 5:30 wake-up in Shami Arabic — coffee, a walk to the synagogue, Jerusalem Talmud, morning prayers, then breakfast and the job hunt.

Two interviews, one rejection, one maybe — and the strange feeling that the world moved without asking permission.

Attending a funeral for a dear friend of the family.

Two months without work, a hard look inward, and tomorrow’s hospital visit with my son.

Doing one small thing at a time.
